The Apex Legends switch release date appears to have been revealed (again)

One of the high-level third-party releases that will arrive on the Nintendo Switch this year is Respawn Entertainment’s free first-person shooter, Apex Legends (another EA title).

Last week, a Japanese game launch trailer mentioned that this version would be released on the same date as the 8th season on February 2nd. Now, a list of Amazon Japan for “Champion Edition” has listed the same date and pre-orders are active.

Apex Legends was originally due to arrive on the Switch last year, until Respawn delayed the game in October. Director Chad Grenier said the team wanted to “do justice” to the Nintendo version – and, as a result, would require more development time.

For those who play on Nintendo Switch, we’re still working hard at the port, but to do the game justice and make it a great experience that Switch players deserve, our team needs more time. This year brought new unexpected challenges, to say the least, and we don’t want to rush anything.

If Apex Legends is actually arriving on February 2nd, we hope to hear something official soon. Will you download this free title when it eventually stops on the Switch? Leave a comment below.
