PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Department of Health announced on Thursday that it will begin administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at the Castle Shannon clinic from next week.

The county health department received four vaccination trays for the first injections, and although it is a series of two injections, the second injection can be given in a 21- to 42-day window.
Limited appointments for the first dose will be available on the Castle Shannon website for people aged 65 and over and only in the week of March 1st.

Registration for the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at Castle Shannon VFD Banquet Hall will open on the county’s website at 9am today.
No on-site visits or registration will be permitted and anyone who does not meet the criteria will be rejected.
