The alleged mockup of the iPhone 13 Pro shows smaller notch, repositioned headset and front camera

Images shared by Japanese website Mac Otakara claim to show a 3D printed mockup of the next 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro with a smaller notch and repositioned headset and front camera, but with minimal changes otherwise.

According to the images, Apple plans to move the headset to the top of the notch within the frame of the screen, aligning with a previous photo shared by MacRumors that shows the same design change.

The alleged mockup of the ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro, which is presumably based on leaked design drawings that often circulated among case makers and others well before Apple’s official launch, also shows the front camera moved to the left side of the notch, a change compared to your current location on the right side of the notch. Photos of the supposed front glass panel of the ‌iPhone 13‌ line shared with MacRumors it also shows a cutout on the left side of the notch for the camera.

Mac Otakara also shared specific notch dimensions for the next ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro, demonstrating how much the notch should shrink. Compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, the model suggests that the 2021 Pro iPhone will feature a 5.35 mm high notch. 5.30 mm for the ‌iPhone 12 Pro‌ and 26.80 mm wide, below 34.83 mm. Visually, the notch will be smaller in width, but it will be slightly higher.

Rumors about a smaller notch have been around since the launch of the PiPhone‌ X, which first introduced the TrueDepth system and the notch. Apple may be able to reduce the area occupied by the notch thanks to the relocation of the headset and the repositioning of the front camera. In addition to the reduced notch, the images shared by Macotakara reveal no changes to the rear camera or other aspects of the ‌iPhone‌ design.

Although lacking in design changes, it is rumored that the ‌iPhone 13‌ comes with some important new features. The latest generation ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro and ‌iPhone 13‌ Pro Max are rumored to come with a 120 Hz ProMotion screen, and the entire line is expected to have a faster A15 chip, enhanced cameras and new colors, including matte black.
