The Republican Party of Alabama on Saturday will present former President Donald Trump with a framed copy of a resolution, unanimously approved by the party, declaring him “one of the greatest and most effective” presidents in the history of the United States.
“The resolution basically talks only about Donald J. Trump’s greatness, how he made America great again and I hope other states do the same,” Perry Hooper Jr., former state deputy and member of the state party executive committee , he told Fox News in an interview.

Hooper will present a framed copy of the resolution to Trump at a reception in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on Saturday night.

The resolution, which was unanimously approved by the party, calls Trump “one of the greatest and most effective presidents in the Republic’s 245-year history” and lists his achievements in office.
“It’s just recognizing him for all the great things he did for America for bringing back American manufacturing, cutting taxes, creating the best economy ever, growing our army,” said Hooper.

He also cites Trump’s treatment with the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, calling it “one of the most important achievements in medical history”, low employment rates and Supreme Court choices.
He also claims that Trump “accomplished more in 48 months than Joe Biden in 48 years as a senator and vice president.”

Hooper, who served as co-chairman of the Trump campaign in Alabama in 2016 and was on the Trump campaign finance committee in 2020, said he would take it a step further and say that Trump was the best president of all time.
“He did so many good things,” he said. “I was a kid when Reagan was elected and I thought that nobody would get over the great things that Ronald Reagan did, but then Donald J Trump comes along and, in my opinion, he is not just one of the great presidents, he is the greatest president that we have had In america. “
The resolution is the latest sign of strong support for Trump from the conservative base and the Republican Party.
Trump comfortably won the straw vote at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Florida last month about who the participants would vote for if they ran for the 2024 presidential primaries.

Hooper said he was speaking not just for the party, but for many Americans who voted for the 45th president in 2020.
“We love him in Alabama, America loves him and he got 75 million votes for a reason and I’m basically speaking for 75 million people in America,” he said.
