MADISON, Wisconsin – The positive percentage of new COVID-19 tests continues to decline gradually in Wisconsin, according to the latest data from the state’s Department of Health Services.

The average positive percentage per test over seven days dropped to 3.1% on Monday afternoon, a percentage that was 7.9% a month ago.

DHS officials said more than 976,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered, while 240,907 received both doses of the vaccine.

The state reached a lifetime total of 555,708 confirmed cases, with 405 new cases registered the previous day. Monday’s count is below the previous day’s value and the 762 seven-day moving average. Less than 2% of cases are active.

Health officials said an additional four people died from coronavirus complications, bringing the statewide death toll by 6,166. Another 38 people were hospitalized between Sunday and Monday. With 10,767 hospital beds across the state, 22% of beds are available for new patients.
