The $ 25,000 Tesla Model 2 electric car rendered – Damn it or Not?

Tesla’s next $ 25,000 electric car, sometimes referred to as “Model 2”, was rendered by an artist.

Drugs or not? Let us know.

Just over a year ago, Tesla announced plans to establish a new R&D and design center in China to build an “Chinese-style” electric car.

Tesla started receiving design proposals for its small Chinese-made electric car last summer and started hiring for the program soon after.

At the time, the automaker also launched this initial design of a small electric hatchback.

This led many to think that it was the design direction and shape that Tesla was looking for for the next electric vehicle:

Later, in talking about what Tesla’s new battery cell and “structural battery” architecture could allow for last year’s Battery Day, CEO Elon Musk announced that Tesla will make a $ 25,000 electric car.

The CEO commented in the announcement:

Tesla will make an attractive $ 25,000 electric vehicle that is also fully autonomous.

He made it clear that this new price point is achieved through Tesla’s new battery cell and the battery manufacturing effort.

Musk also added that the new $ 25,000 electric car will hit the market in about three years, when Tesla increases production on its new battery cell.

The $ 25,000 electric car and the new Chinese hatchback have been linked as the same car in recent comments by Tesla’s head in China.

Now, a Brazilian artist who worked at KDesign AG at Behance launched an interesting rendering based on the hatchback design that Tesla launched:

What do you like about it? No or drug? Could it look like the Model 2 or what would Tesla’s next $ 25,000 electric car be called?

Electrek’s Take

Personally, I like it a lot, but I think the real vehicle will need more rounded angles for aerodynamic performance.

In addition, these wheels look like Tesla’s Model 3 track wheels, and Model 3, or whatever it is called, will definitely have to come with aerodynamic wheels.

However, I could see Tesla making a hot hatch version with dual engines, better wheels and tires and great performance.

But I can imagine the base version looking like a slightly toned down version of that rendering.
