The council also suggested that women lose weight by doing household chores like washing dishes and cleaning.

The shocked South Koreans started a petition calling for the official responsible for the job to be punished and to make a public apology.
Others expressed their outrage on Twitter.
The Seoul city government did not immediately respond to CNN’s request for comment.
