Thanks to a fan, Rockstar is fixing the slow loading times of the PC in GTA Online

How tells the story, a person who goes by the t0st identifier recently accessed GitHub to share a proof of concept of a fix they developed for the game. They claimed that it could improve GTA Online’s load times by up to 70 percent, solving a problem with a CPU bottleneck. They warned that the fix was not “for casual use”, but estimated that a single Rockstar developer could implement something similar in less than a day. In all, it will take longer than that, but according to Rockstar, an official fix is underway.

“After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that the player actually revealed an aspect of the game code related to the loading times for the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved,” said the company. PC Gamer. “As a result of these investigations, we made some changes that will be implemented in an upcoming title update.” Rockstar did not say when it plans to release the fix. But after years of enduring slow load times, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel for PC players.
