Directed by AL Vijay, Thalaivi is based on the life of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa, with Kangana rehearsing the title role of the film. Popularly known as Puratchi Thalaivar and Makkal Thilagam, MGR played a very important role in Jayalalithaa’s life and career.

Arvind’s first look in the film was revealed in January this year.

Creative film producer Brinda Prasad said in a statement: “MGR has been one of the most respected and loved figures among the people of Tamil Nadu. We, as creators, had to be extremely cautious about presenting such a large personality. We made a conscious effort not only to improve the look, but also to emulate the characteristics of the legendary hero and Arvind Swami was the right choice for the role. “

Producer Shaailesh R Singh added: “It was impressive to witness the warm response to the film’s previous looks, whether it’s Kangana’s interpretation of Jayalalithaa or our first MGR look by Arvind Swami. With all the praise, our responsibility to deliver better and live up to expectations has increased and when we decided to present Arvind Swami’s look as MGR in his later stage as a politician, we have been extremely diligent with the details. We hope that the public will continue to show their love for the film and accept our attempt to honor the legends of South Indian cinema as well as politics. “

Thalaivi has music by GV Prakash Kumar, while the famous Bjarangi Bhaijhaan writer, Vijayendra Prasad, was called in to oversee the writing process.
