Tesla’s latest update turns its EV into a boombox

Your Tesla will soon be able to spread its musical taste to the world – if you have the right car, at least. Electrek notes that Tesla released its promised holiday update, and the centerpiece appears to be a Boombox mode that pumps the media out, as long as you have a recent enough EV with a pedestrian speaker system, such as later production of Model 3. You probably won’t use it for parties during the pandemic and you should check your local laws, but it’s more efficient (not to say safer) than raising the normal volume and leaving a window open.

Elon Musk added that you can customize the sound of the horn in these newer cars to something beyond the normal horn. Other updates include a smarter scheduled start that precondition the battery and the cab without connecting, larger steering views (useful for autopilot) and quick views of the number of open spaces in the Superchargers.
