Tesla’s Crazy Yoke can enable flight controls and activate rockets on the Roadster

Elon Musk says the new Tesla Roadster (production scheduled to start in 2022) will be able to fly a little bit, so maybe the new Model S stick will be used for the driver to pull it back to fly.

Of course, the S ‘yoke model has been the focus of much discussion after the revamped S was revealed. So much so that even Lucid Motors scoffed at its curious design. Later on, we found that it will probably be optional, with a standard steering wheel available for those who don’t want the stick, but what if Tesla’s intention all the time was for the stick to be tested on the Model S before its actual purpose, and for allow the flight that Musk talks about in the new Tesla Roadster.

The news of how the yoke can control the car came to us via Twitter (see the various tweets below). Although the idea may seem a little out of this world, we must take into account the fact that Musk tends to like exaggerated ideas and he definitely likes to fly, at least one flight that takes us beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.

If in fact the joystick provides additional controls, then one would certainly be to activate “flight” mode on the Roadster. Now, we don’t believe the Roadster will actually leave the ground, but perhaps by pulling the stick back, these SpaceX thrusters are activated and provide the ultimate in acceleration.

However, with the Tesla Model S Plaid + doing 0 to 60 MPH in 1.99 seconds and the Roadster certainly even faster than that, activating these thrusters will definitely make the car appear to be flying.

The stick could also be used for several other maneuvers, like some crazy turns, skids and so on, but the focus on flight is what Musk always mentions, so we highlight this aspect here.
