Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) – Elon Musk says ‘I’m a Bitcoin supporter’

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, in a conversation at the Clubhouse on Monday, said he is a “Bitcoin supporter”.

The billionaire businessman said many of his friends had tried to convince him to get involved with Bitcoin over the years.

What happened: Musk said he was fed a “slice of Bitcoin cake” in 2013. Tesla’s CEO said he should have bought Bitcoin at least eight years ago and admitted he was late for the party.

“Bitcoin is a good thing,” said Musk. “So, I’m a supporter of Bitcoin.”

“Bitcoin is really about to gain wide acceptance” in the world of conventional finance, according to Musk.

The richest person in the world said he used to make jokes about “Dogecoin”, but in reality they are meant to be jokes. Musk pointed out that Dogecoin was made as a joke and “the most ironic result would be that Dogecoin would become the currency of the earth in the future.”

Why does it matter: Musk updated his biography on Twitter on Friday to just say “#Bitcoin”, and the cryptocurrency immediately rose to the $ 38,000 level.

Bitcoin has since retreated, trading at $ 33,502.45 so far.

Tesla’s CEO also has a long history of tweeting about Dogecoin, which often makes cryptocurrency soar.
