Tesla Model S “Refresh” with wide checkered body and new wheels near HQ

A wide-bodied Tesla Model S “Refresh”, an updated rear diffuser and new wheels were seen near the company’s headquarters in Silicon Valley on New Year’s Day.

Photos of a blue S model with a chrome finish and a noticeably wider stance can provide further validation that the Tesla flagship is underway for its long-awaited project refresh which includes Tesla’s next generation Tri-engine Plaid Powertrain.

Ryan Levenson of The Kilowatts on YouTube spotted the exclusive Model S with manufacturer’s plates on Friday, early in the afternoon, near the intersection of Arastradero Road and Purissima Road in Palo Alto, California.

It is the first known sighting of a Model S with a large factory fuselage on public roads since the company’s provocation in September 2020 of a record-breaking Model Manta S.

Arastradero Road, near Tesla’s headquarters, has seen Tesla’s alpha vehicles and prototypes and a path that has become synonymous with an unofficial test for new vehicles and autopilot development.

In addition to the matte black window finish seen on the Model S Refresh, further suggesting that Tesla will completely eliminate the chrome finish and likely update future versions of its flagship Model X SUV with similar “chrome exclusion”, new revised wheels and headlights Were also seen.

The design changes on the Model S front panel seemed minimal in the photos seen by Teslarati. Although it is not clear whether Tesla will make any significant updates to the front bumper design (as it did in 2016, when the Model S “nose” was replaced) when production of the Model S Tri-engine begins this year, race sightings – The Nürburgring Model S suggests that additional cooling vents and a slightly more aggressive lower lip would be the extension of any main cosmetic updates.

The delivery of Tesla’s Model S with Tri Motor Plaid powertrain is expected to start in late 2021, at an initial price of $ 139,990. The Tesla Model S Plaid will have a capacity of more than 520 miles in range and a performance of 0-60 mph in less than 2 seconds, according to the manufacturer.
