We have said repeatedly that you cannot just rely on the range estimated by the EPA. To better understand how much range an EV will have, you must examine many different tests. This Tesla Model 3 versus Polestar 2 range comparison test shows how the real-world range test compares to standardized tests.
Carwow opposes the new all-electric polestar 2 fastback against two different versions of the Tesla Model 3: the Model 3 Performance with dual-engine four-wheel drive and the Standard Range Plus with rear-wheel drive from a single engine.
According to Carwow, Polestar 2 has a range of 292 miles. The Model 3 Standard Range Plus has a range of 278 miles, and the Model 3 Performance has a range of 352 miles.
It is important to note that Carwow is headquartered abroad, therefore, it does not refer to the EPA testing cycle. Instead, their estimates are based on the WLTP test cycle, which is different.
The EPA says Polestar 2’s range is only 233 miles. The Model 3 Standard Range Plus has an EPA estimated range of 263 miles and the Model 3 Performance reaches 315 miles.
Carwow begins its test with all cars fully loaded. He drives them continuously on the M25 in London until they run out of battery. It’s a long and tedious test, but certainly an important one, and we appreciate Carwow’s endurance.

Polestar 2 gives up first, although its WLTP range is greater than that of the cheaper Model 3. However, if you look at the information above, you will see that the EPA gives Polestar 2 30 miles less than its estimated range than the Model 3 Standard Range Plus.
The Model 3 rear-wheel drive is the next car to come out of the battle, automatically making the Model 3 Performance the winner.
