Tesla car horns can now emit sounds like fart or goat

Be careful when walking. This can now fart for you or worse, in my humble opinion, goat yelling at you.

I now know when I am likely to have a heart attack. It will be when I am walking, without suspicion, on the sidewalk and a Tesla happens to honk its horn using the scariest sound I’ve heard in weeks: a goat bleating. Now, I looked up videos of From others goats bleating, and they don’t scare me. In fact, they’re kind of cute. But the Tesla goat sounds like it’s screaming, and it’s very alarming.

The bleating is part of the company’s vacation software update that allows users to use a new “Boombox” mode to change the sound of their horns to sounds like fart, chic, applause, tada, goat or “La Cucaracha”, among others . But if Tesla owners don’t like any of these options, they can also upload up to five personalized sounds via USB. In addition to changing the sound of the horn, the Boombox essentially does what its name says: it turns the car into a boombox when parked and allows users to play music on the car’s external speakers.

According to the release notes for the software update, which are explained in detail by Teslarati, Boombox can also be used in other instances.

“Turn your car into a boombox and entertain a crowd with your media player when parked. You can also customize the sound that your car makes when you press the horn, drive or when your car is in motion with Summon, ”say the notes. “Select an option from the drop-down menu or insert your own USB device and save up to five custom sounds.”

You can check out some of the sounds in the video below Tesla Owners Online. The bleating scream is there.

Not all Teslas will be able to use the feature, at least now. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who obviously loves this feature, said on Twitter that only cars with external pedestrian speakers installed will receive the Boombox mode update. All Tesla cars manufactured after September 1, 2019 have these speakers installed in order to comply with the rules established by National Road Traffic Safety Administration, which requires electric and hybrid cars to emit a sound of up to 30 km / h to protect pedestrians.

The Tesla vacation update also included additional improvements to another car fart feature: Emissions test mode. This feature allows users to reproduce a variety of fart sounds in different seats of the car, in addition to replacing the noise of the direction signal with a fart. The company’s new update allows owners to use Emissions Test Mode out of the carbasically allowing him to fart at any time through the car’s external speakers.

Unfortunately, launching new farting features to just a few of your customers apparently leaves others craving the ability to fart. Case in point: Tesla owners of the Silicon Valley Club asked Musk on Twitter if owners with older models without external speakers could install them to use the Boombox.

“We definitely need this. I want to fart with people who pass by ”, the club tweeted in Musk, who said he would Checks about whether that was possible.

A nice reminder that all humans have this ability, but I’m getting the impression that it must be much better in the car.
