Tennis star Ellen Perez mocks Australia’s quarantine

An Australian tennis star confined to a hotel quarantine responded to other players by complaining about the conditions, mocking their complaints in a hilarious video.

About 72 players in Melbourne for the Australian Open grand slam next month cannot practice or leave their hotel rooms for 14 days after arriving on one of three chartered flights with an infected coronavirus case on board.

Australian doubles player Ellen Perez, 25, is also hiding in a hotel quarantine for the next fortnight after landing in Melbourne on a last-minute flight on Wednesday.

She was stranded in the Middle East last weekend after reporting that she had a runny nose before boarding one of the charter flights, but since then the test has been negative.

While a series of players and their hard-lockdown partners attacked social media complaining about everything from food and shortness of breath to the inability to practice and have to wash their hair, Perez took it easy.

‘I’m going to try to come up with some fun things, but please post suggestions for things I should do or what you want to see,’ Perez tweeted to fans.

Within hours, Perez’s sense of humor already had fans in spots with a series of videos mocking some of the prolific whiners in quarantine, including male world number one Novak Djokovic, female world 28 Yulia Putintseva and Bernard Tomic’s girlfriend Vanessa Sierra.

“Hey, guys, it was a great first quarantine day for me”, she starts a video.

‘My body is hurting and there is no better way to recover than a recovery dive.’

Perez enters the bathtub fully dressed and begins to do free swimming strokes while mocking Putintseva’s complaints about the lack of fresh air and Ms. Sierra forced to wash her hair.

‘Guys, it’s so hard to breathe here. There is no air. I cannot live like this. I can not do it. And, look at my hair. I’ll have to wash it myself now. What a disaster this is. ‘

Sierra, an OnlyFans star, was criticized for complaining about having to wash her hair.

In more videos posted in his Instagram stories, Perez has another chance at Putintseva making a paper toy mouse and taking “Mickey” to stroll in his room on a piece of string after the Kazakh star discovered several mice in his room .

Another video shows the massive stockpile of sugar sachets received after requesting the reception of some, while she mocks the male world number one, Djokovic, and her list of quarantined players’ orders.

‘Umm, I’m a little confused about why there is no paparazzi here,’ she says in another video showing her view of a parking lot from her room.

‘You have a perfect vision for me. I even put on lip gloss now.

Djokovic has been seen on his topless balcony on several occasions.

Perez’s new perspective on the hotel quarantine has won many fans online.

‘I love your mood! You’re a star, ‘commented a fan.

Another added: ‘You seem to be in the running for a top competitor in’ Out of the box – quarantine edition ‘.

Perez replied that she was leading the quarantine edition out of the box, as she was the only one in the competition.

A fan asked Perez if she could swim in the bath.

‘I could probably prepare for the Tokyo Olympics there, but it is so difficult without air underwater,’ joked Perez.

Perez will pair with Australian Daria Gavrilova at the Australian Open, which starts on February 8.

This comes after Tennis Australia coach Craig Tiley returned a scathing loot to stars complaining about the hotel quarantine and insists they were aware of the risks before they arrived.

“That would always be the risk,” he told Sunrise on Wednesday.

‘Each player coming to Australia was aware that there would always be a risk that if they tested positive, they would be in a cohort or on an airplane and were determined to be a close contact, they would have to remain in a rigid block until , like every Australian returning home, they completed their 14 days.

“There was never a guarantee that everyone on the plane would not be considered a close contact.”

He called for players’ complaints to be dealt with internally, rather than being made public.

“If you have a complaint, come to me, blame me, don’t go out on social media and take it out on our team, take it out on the Melbourne community,” Tiley told Sky News.

– If you want a crack, at least come to me.
