A 70-year-old Tennessee man considered “armed and dangerous” is being sought in connection with a double homicide on a lake on Monday morning, investigators said.

Resident David Gray told the local WPSD-TV station that the lake “is a very peaceful area” and that the incident worried the community.

“A lot of hunters come here and like to hunt ducks and everything, but being upset about someone shooting more ducks or whatever, I don’t know,” said Gray.

Spread over more than 15,000 acres, Reelfoot Lake is a flooded forest that is part of Reelfoot Lake State Park, located in the northwest corner of the state. The park is known for activities like fishing, boating, wildlife viewing and camping, according to Tennessee State Parks.

The investigators asked anyone with information about Vowell’s whereabouts to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
