Telegram takes over the Clubhouse with Voice Chat 2.0

The latest update to Telegram brings major improvements to the Voice Chat feature that was released to users last year. The new version, which Telegram is calling Voice Chats 2.0, extends Voice Chat support to channels and introduces some new features to improve the Voice Chat experience.

The new features of Telegram Voice Chat were first identified in a beta update earlier this month. Now, the features are finally being released with the latest stable version. After the most recent update, channel administrators will have the ability to host voice chats. To do this, administrators will have to open the profile of any group or channel, tap on the three-point menu icon and select the new option “Start voice chat”.

The update also features a new recorded chat feature that will allow group and channel administrators to record audio from voice chats and post them to the group / channel for members who missed the live event. The recorded chats will be available in Saved messages.

In addition, Telegram voice chats are getting a new feature to raise their hands to help mute participants easily indicate that they want to speak. Administrators will see a new animation whenever a participant uses the Raise Hand option. Touching it will open a pop-up window with an option to allow the participant to speak, open the chat or remove the participant.

The update also provides an option to help administrators share invitation links for voice chats. The setting will allow administrators to create separate links for speakers and listeners. Administrators will also have the option to add titles to voice chats to help members see the topic of the conversation before joining.

Finally, the latest update to Telegram also includes an option to help users choose their personal account or channel account when joining voice chats. Along with these improvements to Voice Chat, Telegram is receiving some additional features with the latest update. You can read everything about them by following this link.
