Ted Cruz says “Avengers”, “Vigilantes” turns “angry environmentalists” into bad guys

In an interview with Daily Wire presenter Michael Knowles, Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said that certain films seem to portray “angry environmentalists” as “bad guys”.

“Did you notice in how many films how often the angry environmentalists are the bad guys?” Cruz asked Knowles.

“Be Thanos or go to ‘Watchmen’. You know, where the view on the left is that people are a disease. They believe in the Malthusian line that there are too many people in the world … and everything would be better if we had fewer people, ”said Cruz.

The Malthusian theory that Cruz referred to states that as the population increases, there will not be enough food or other resources to support the population.

Cruz said Thanos, the villain of “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”, wanting to destroy 50 percent of all life in the universe is an example of angry environmentalists being the bad guys. Cruz received some criticism on Twitter for his suggestion.

Watchmen writer and producer Lila Byock responded to Cruz on Twitter, saying, “Literally, what the hell are you talking about?”

“I’m really surprised at how much Cruz knows about Avengers. And going back to the original Watchmen book for Veidt’s plan to sacrifice millions of New Yorkers for a bigger global plan, ”wrote Mark Millar, comic book writer and division president at Netflix. “I feel like I’m hallucinating this interview on the 300th day of the blockade …”

Cruz is at odds with Democrats on environmental issues, with the most recent confrontation being over President Biden’s proposal to stop work on the Keystone XL project.

“Administrator Biden’s message to America’s blue collar workers: If you’re a blue collar worker in the energy industry, find a new job,” tweeted Cruz.
