An abundance of high-profile outings at Polish developer Techland has resulted in real concern over the status of Dying Light 2. More recently, Paweł Selinger, a 22-year veteran on the team, decided to leave his role as Narrative Designer. In a note, the studio wished the veteran the best, but stressed “he left a big chunk of himself with Dying Light 2 because he worked on the project from the beginning”.
The company, in a somewhat unprecedented move, also commented on the rumors about the position of Art Director, confirming that there have been no changes in this role. “The position of Art Director is not threatened and has been held by Eric Cochonneau since November 2019,” said a spokesman. “Eric has taken care of every aspect of future production ever since and the team under his leadership is doing its best to offer players the best game possible.”
So, how about that game? It was originally released on PlayStation 4 in the spring of 2020, but it currently does not have a release date attached. Well, Techland promises to “share interesting news” about the project in the near future. With fingers crossed, we will have a significant update on the game in the coming months.
