On Thursday morning, Riot Games revealed new information about what Teamfight Tactics players can expect throughout 2021 as part of the Opening Day 2021 Live Stream. With over 200,000 fans watching in their stream official YouTube live, TJ Bourus, the product leader for the automatic chess game mode, talked about what players will experience in the short and long term.

While the segment dedicated to Teamfight Tactics was shorter than most, players received confirmation that two sets of content will be released in 2021, including the expansion of the intermediate set, in the coming weeks. Set 5, whose name has not been released, will have a vibration of good versus evil, according to Bourus. The details have not been shared, unless champions like Garen and Riven will represent the “good guys”, while Darius, Volibear, Morgana, Teemo and Viego (the newly revealed champion of the “ruined King”) will be composing some of the villains who will come later this spring.

For players looking to mix up their gaming experience, the development team today announced that a “turbo” game mode is on the horizon. According to Bourus, people who want a simpler and faster way to play TFT will have a lot of fun with the new game mode, about which they will share more information at the end of the year.

The last information revealed during the stream is what players have been asking for since the game’s release: a spectator mode. The development team is working hard to create a specific spectator mode for electronic sports for the end of the year, which they intend to have ready for the Set 5 World Championship. No additional details have been shared about when someone can reach the standard game client.
