Taylor Swift cited Netflix and its new show Ginny and Georgia for a “deeply sexist joke” made at your expense. THE Gilmore GirlsThe dramatic comedy about a teenage girl and her young mother was released on the streaming platform in late February.
In one episode, a character comments: “What do you care? You pass men faster than Taylor Swift. ”The Swift digging sparked fans over the weekend; they introduced the “RESPECT TAYLOR SWIFT” trend on Twitter in light of the line. Fans also pointed out a similar misogynistic comment from Degrassi: next class, who also broadcasts on Netflix: “Taylor Swift has had an entire career with her ex-boyfriends,” said one character.

Swift took particular aim at the new series. “Hey Ginny and Georgia, 2010 called and wants his lazy and deeply sexist joke back, ”she tweeted Monday morning with the same viral screengrab that fans were sharing. “How about we stop degrading working women by defining this horse shit as FuNnY.”
Netflix did not immediately respond to Rolling Stonerequest for comment from.
Swift has already partnered with Netflix to launch two specials: its 2018 Reputation 2020 special concert and documentary American Miss.
