‘I love coming here to give you good news or to share a new project with you,’ Taylor began his statement. – It is not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell news that I am sad.

– I’m sorry, but I can’t reschedule the shows we postponed. Although refunds have been available since we postponed Lover Fest shows for the first time, many of you kept your tickets and I also kept the idea that we could reschedule, ‘she continued.

‘This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape will look like in the near future.

Many other artists canceled their shows until 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, although some followed Taylor’s original path of simply postponing dates.

In the early months of the pandemic, Ticketmaster only granted refunds for events that were canceled, while people with postponed concert tickets were out of luck.

The ticket vendor gave in late spring and allowed some venues to choose to offer reimbursement for delayed shows, although not all venues were willing to return money to people for late events.

A lot has changed for Taylor musically since she originally planned Lover Fest dates.

The tour should have promoted its then new album Lover, which was released in August 2019 and quickly topped the Billboard 200 charts.

In the midst of his pandemic isolation, Taylor changed course with the album Folklore, which took a more stripped-down and folky approach to composition than his recent pop records.

She followed with the surprise sister album Evermore, which doubled in her art-pop inclinations.

Before the disappointing news about the Lover Fest tour, Taylor joyfully celebrated approval in the Chamber of Representatives for the Equality Act by a vote from 224 to 206.

If passed in the Senate, the bill would amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to add sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes, in addition to race, religion, sex and nationality.

‘YEA!!! Fingers crossed and praying that the Senate sees trans and LGBT rights as basic human rights, ”Taylor tweeted optimistically on Thursday.
