In between American Miss, folklore, ever, and her successes rewritten, Taylor Swift really gave her musical 2020 everything. The only thing the singer couldn’t give to fans, however, was she Lover concert tour, in support of the 2019 title album. Scheduled to start last April and last until August, the tour was postponed after the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Like thousands of his fellow musicians, Swift remained hopeful that he would eventually be able to reschedule the shows. On Friday, however, the singer announced that her postponed shows were officially canceled. Swift writes, “I’m sorry.”
“I love coming here to give you good news or to share a new project with you,” said the singer tweeted in a statement Friday. “It is not my favorite thing in the world to have to tell you the news that I am sad about. I’m sorry, but I can’t reschedule the shows we postponed. Although refunds have been available since we posted the Lover Fest shows for the first time, many of you kept your tickets and I also kept the idea that we could reschedule. “
“This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape will look like in the near future,” continues Swift. “I am so disappointed that I was not able to see him in person as soon as I wanted to. I missed you terribly and I can’t wait until we can all be safe at shows together again. “
