Target recalls 480,000 children’s overalls and children’s swimsuits

The target is recalling 480,000 units of children’s overalls and bathing suits for babies and young children. Both recalls were announced on December 30, 2020 by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Target.

The retailer received 16 reports of snapping on Cloud Island coveralls breaking, dropping or losing, including a report of scratches and a report of a child being pinched, according to the CPSC.

Baby jumpsuits being called back include Cloud Island Waterfront Baby Boutique Rompers, Cloud Island Little Peanut and True Navy Rompers, Cloud Island Little Wildflower and Joyful Mint Rompers, Cloud Island Oh Honeybee and Pink Rompers and Cloud Island Floral Fields and Mint Rompers. The overalls were sold in newborn sizes at 12 months. Approximately 299,000 rompers in total were collected.

Customers are asked to return any collected overalls to the store for a refund. “Consumers should immediately remove the children’s overalls collected from the children and return them to any destination store for a full refund,” says the CPSC in a notice. “Consumers who purchased the overalls on Target.com can contact Target to receive a prepaid return label to return the overalls.”

A complete list of product item numbers can be found on the recall notice and the numbers are also printed on the white label inside the coverall.

If you bought a swimsuit from Target for your child, you will want to check the details of a second recall right away. The swimsuits being collected are Cat & Jack Summer Blue Lemon, Coral Icon Story Hawaiian and Moxie Peach Lemon one-piece rash protectors. Children’s and children’s swimsuits were sold in sizes 12M to 5T.

The target received 27 reports of swimsuit fitting breaking or tearing, including a report of laceration.

About 181,000 swimsuits are being collected and can be returned for refund. The exact product item numbers are listed on the recall notice and can be found on the white label inside the swimsuit. Buyers can return swimwear in stores or contact Target to obtain a prepaid return label if the item was purchased on the store’s website.
