Former Bond girl and “Sheena: Queen of the Jungle” star Tanya Roberts was wrongly announced as dead on Sunday night.
His representative Mike Pingel said Variety who, although her husband, Lance O’Brien, was originally informed that she had died, the hospital called Monday morning to report that she was still alive. However, Pingel said that Roberts remains in the ICU in “terrible” conditions.
TMZ reported for the first time that she was still alive.
Roberts played Stacey Sutton in the 1985 James Bond film “A View to a Kill”, as well as Midge Pinciotti in “That ’70s Show” between 1998 and 2004.
The 65-year-old artist was admitted to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after passing out on Christmas Eve.
She appeared in films such as “The Beastmaster” (1982), “Sheena: Queen of the Jungle” (1984), “Body Slam” (1987) and “Night Eyes” (1990). Early in her career, she appeared on “Zuma Beach”, “Pleasure Cove” and “Waikiki”.
In the TV series “Charlie’s Angels”, Roberts played Julie Rogers and, more recently, she appeared in the 2005 “Barbershop” series.
Although it is unclear exactly how the error happened, hospitals in Southern California are operating under extreme pressure at the moment due to excessive hospitalizations for COVID-19. Between December 25 and 28, there were no ICU beds available in the area that includes Cedars-Sinai, and most of the beds were occupied by COVID patients.
Roberts passed out on December 24 and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
