1000 Lb Sisters Star Amy Slaton welcomed her baby, Gage, in November 2020. Tammy Slaton was concerned about her sister’s health at the time. Amy was told that she should not try to have a child for up to two years after bariatric surgery.

“When Amy told me she was pregnant, I really didn’t know what to say, except ‘Really? Are you serious? You know you shouldn’t be pregnant right now ‘”, Tammy Slaton said 1000 Lb Sisters producers.

“When I first heard that Amy was pregnant, I was feeling all sorts of things, angry, sad and concerned about her health and safety, since it was right after the surgery,” Tammy told People.

“I know, it’s like, I’m scared of hell, because it was just four months ago [that I had] my surgery and now I’m pregnant, ”said Amy Slaton on the program.

Fortunately, baby Gage was born safe and healthy, and Amy Slaton is doing well after pregnancy.

While 1000 Lb Sisters star Amy Slaton is still shining in the excitement that comes with a newborn, Tammy Slaton suggests that she is dealing with depression and feelings of worthlessness about her weight loss regime.

This is compounded by the discovery that Tammy has gained weight – 21 pounds since her previous check-in with Dr. Eric Smith.

“I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the hell is the point?'” She admits in a preview by People. She added that “I just wasn’t doing what I needed to do”.

Dr. Smith asks Tammy to describe his feelings after she makes a choice that she regrets.

“Even more depressed. Because I know I shouldn’t sit there and eat everything, but I do, and I don’t know how to stop, ”she replies.

‘1000-Lb Sisters’ star opens

Tammy Slaton struggles with some powerful emotions during the preview, but Dr. Smith suggests that the 1000 Lb Sisters star is doing the right thing by being honest with herself.

“I’m very proud of you for the fact that you just admitted, ‘I don’t know how to stop’, because this is the first step in asking someone to try to help you learn to stop,” says Dr. Smith to her. He then praises her for taking responsibility.

“You could have blamed it [that] you couldn’t get out of bed, you could have blamed the fact that you had COVID and you could have blamed the fact that you were in the hospital and you didn’t. And believe it or not, this is a step ahead of where you were in the past. So, you just made progress, even though your weight has gone up. “
