– If you are one of the apparently many people who have been missing Taco Bell’s potatoes since the fast food chain stopped serving them in the summer, we have some good news for you: they will be back on March 11th. spiced potato bites as part of an effort to “streamline” their menu (an effort that some people may find disconcerting due to observations like this, but which was done in an attempt to speed up the drive-thru process amid the coronavirus). But the decision was met with excitement, as many people pointed out that potatoes were a useful alternative for non-meat eaters who still wanted to enjoy the offerings on the chain’s menu; an online petition was initiated and many regretted the decision on social media.
Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes and Spicy Potato Soft Taco will be back on the menu in March, and customers will also be able to replace potatoes on any other menu item, reports Eater. “I feel like I almost heard from everyone in the country about potato bites,” Taco Bell’s global director of food innovation told CNN. Examples of responses to the somewhat scary official video, which Taco Bell posted at Twitter, included “Bring back the Mexican pizza !!!” and “Now make nacho chips a permanent item on the menu.” Taco Bell is also planning a collaboration with Beyond Meat for vegetarian and vegan customers, which will be tested this year.
