T-Mobile is adding a new plan to its line, this time designed for its most demanding data users. Called Magenta Max, the new plan will replace the existing Magenta Plus offer and will be available from February 24th. The new Max offer notably has no smartphone data limitation, regardless of how much 4G or 5G data you use in a month.

The data from the mobile access point, however, will be slowed down to “3G speeds” if you exceed 40 GB in a month. The Magenta Plus plan previously limited high-speed mobile hotspot data to 20 GB in one month.

T-Mobile says the new plan will be launched at a “limited time” price of $ 47 per line per month for three lines with automatic payments, a discount of $ 10 off the standard rate of $ 57 per month. line per month. A single line costs $ 85 per month with automatic payment, with all plans including taxes and fees in the price.

Other Max features include a subscription to the Standard Netflix plan (typically $ 14 per month), which allows streaming in HD if you have two or more lines, while a subscription to the basic non-HD plan from Netflix ($ 9 per month ) will be included by single maximum lines. Those with the new plan will have access to unlimited Wi-Fi and GoGo text messages during the flight and will be able to take advantage of the same faster international data speeds offered on Magenta Plus when traveling abroad (although speeds are still limited to 256 kbps ).

You will also be able to broadcast on your phone in 4K UHD (instead of HD), as long as you have the appropriate content and a high-resolution screen phone.

While replacing the Magenta Plus option, T-Mobile’s chief marketing officer Matt Staneff tells CNET that the company will not automatically switch those with Plus to the new Max plan. “They will have to choose to get it,” he says, ” and this is a long-standing policy of ours […] we don’t change your plan, only you can change your plan. “

To try to attract Verizon and AT&T customers, the operator will be offering a “zero-cost-to-exchange” promotion that will allow those who are funding a phone to switch to T-Mobile and charge up to $ 650 per line for the rest of the installment, letting you keep the phone. Like the discounted rate, the switcher’s offer is a “limited time” deal, but Staneff did not disclose how long the period would last, saying only that it will exist “until we change it going forward”.

In addition to the change in Max, those with T-Mobile’s flagship Magenta plan will also see some improvements without having to adjust their plan, including having up to 100 GB of high-speed monthly data on their phones and 5 GB of mobile hotspot data. high speed per month.
