An SUV hit a television news crew and others on Friday afternoon as it entered a market on the Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, officials said.
A Fox 11 News photographer and reporter was among the five people affected, the station tweeted. One person refused to be taken to the hospital, but four others were hospitalized with serious injuries to critics, the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement.
The circumstances of the accident at 4 pm near the El Capitan Entertainment Center, where “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was recorded, were unknown, the department said.
News footage of the scene showed a white Nissan Pathfinder on a sidewalk in front of the market.
Los Angeles policeman Mike Lopez said the driver was arrested and under investigation for drunk driving. It was not clear whether the driver was one of the five injured.
The collision investigation is ongoing, he said.
