Suspicious chest truck on Hwy 231 in Lebanon had no explosives

LEBANON, Tennessee (WTVF) – Officials say a suspicious cargo truck on Hwy 231 in Lebanon on Sunday afternoon had no explosives.

Captain Scott Moore of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle is explosive-free. Rutherford County will continue to investigate and the truck driver is being held.

The officers received a call about a white truck parked at Crossroads Market at around 10:30 am. The Rutherford county sheriff’s office said the box truck was playing audio similar to what was heard before a trailer exploded in downtown Nashville on Christmas morning.

Due to the investigation, Highway 231 from Cedars of Lebanon State Park to Richmond Shop Road was closed most Sunday afternoon.

As a precaution, nearby residents were evacuated during the investigation of the truck.

Authorities said the truck driver traveled from Rutherford County to Wilson County, where he was stopped on Highway 231 by police and detained.
