Bindi has been pregnant for a minute and recently talked to The Bump about the special nickname inspired by her late father, The crocodile hunter the star Steve Irwin, which she and her husband Chandler Powell gave to their baby.
Bindi explained that she and Chandler are referring to the newborn as “Baby Wildlife Warrior” to honor Steve’s legacy.
“My father was the first person to come up with the term ‘wildlife warrior’,” she explained. “Being a wildlife warrior means standing up and speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
“We are referring to our daughter as our Baby Wildlife Warrior. I know in my heart that she will forge her own way to make our planet a better place.”
Bindi also talked about how the process of naming babies is going on between her and Chandler.
“We are waiting to meet you before we decide on a name,” explained Bindi. “We want to hug her and make sure that the name we choose fits her perfectly.”
“We have been researching the family history, both on my side and on Chandler’s side, looking for inspiration for the family name. As soon as it arrives, I think we will know exactly what to call it.”
No matter where they land, we are sure they will make the right choice.
