THE Smallville Gazette just found its next (albeit extremely meta) front-page story: The CW renewed Superman and Lois for a second season after just one screening, TVLine has learned.
“The phenomenal multi-platform debut of Superman and Lois, which worked for us in an excellent way, both linear and streaming, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment ”CW CEO Mark Pedowitz said in a statement on Tuesday. “We are excited to now have two genuine new successes in Superman and Lois and walker, both renewed for the next season along with 11 others from our programs, positioning us even more for continued strength and stability for the next season. “
Superman and Lois debuted on February 23 with a total of 1.75 million viewers and a rating of 0.4 demo (in live numbers + on the same day), giving CW its biggest audience at 8 am on Tuesday in two years , in addition to marking the network’s second biggest season or audience for the series’s premiere since Bat Woman around the fall of 2019.
With Live + 3 DVR playback, the debut audience increased to 2.71 million, while the number of demonstrations grew by 68 percent (to more than 0.6).
TVLine’s readers gave Superman and Lois‘launch an average grade of “A-”, with 93 percent planning to stay tuned when it arrives at its regular time on Tuesdays at 9 this week.
This latest iteration of the Man of Steel story – which shows him and Lois raising their teenage children in Smallville – stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent / Superman, Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane, Jordan Elsass as Jonathan Kent, Alexander Garfin as Jordan Kent , Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing, Wolé Parks as The Stranger (also known as “Captain Luthor”), Adam Rayner as Morgan Edge with Dylan Walsh as General Samuel Lane and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang Cushing.
