Super Smash Bros. Update Ultimate 11.0.1 live, full patch notes released

A new update is available for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately, version 11.0.1 doesn’t offer anything very substantive for the game, so fans who wait for some radical changes in the fighter will have to wait a little longer. It is clear, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has just seen a large number of changes on its list, so a minor update is likely to be welcome for fans of the fighting game. Unlike the previous update, this one makes the switch to a lone playable fighter: Wii Fit Trainer. The full patch notes directly from the Nintendo website can be found below:

  • In general

    • The vulnerability when landing after using the Wii Fit Trainer’s special side header decreased involuntarily, so this has been adjusted.

The list of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate it currently features a large number of fighters, so periodic updates like this are needed to keep things balanced. It may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but this adjustment to the Wii Fit Trainer will bring the fighter closer to where Nintendo and director Masahiro Sakurai need the character to be. The Wii Fit Trainer became a playable fighter for the first time in the series with Super Smash Bros. for 3DS / Wii U.

The previous update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate saw the fourth fighter added from the game Fighter’s Pass Vol. 2 DLC: Pyra / Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. There are only two roster slots left as part of the DLC package, and there is much speculation as to which characters will enter the game next. Fans expect to see characters like Crash Bandicoot, Master Chief and Doom Slayer, but Nintendo has proven that it can be very difficult to predict which fighters will come into the game. Of course, this makes it all the more exciting, as some characters have offered some truly shocking surprises. It will probably take a few more months for another fighter to be revealed, so fans will have plenty of time to continue with this speculation!
