Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mod adds Sora from Kingdom Hearts

You may remember rumors last year about a possible addition of the Kingdom Hearts Sora protagonist to Nintendo’s popular fighting video game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which seemed quite substantial thanks to some convincing features. This was actually taken from a mod by the Mastaklo modder, and the mod itself is now available and available to anyone who subscribes to the modder’s Patreon. If you just want to see the Sora mod in action, the modder helped to share a small gameplay showcase, which you can check out above, which shows what to expect.

Sora, if you are in any way unfamiliar, it has been a fan favorite request for an additional fighter for years at this point. There was never any serious indication that it would reach the title, of course, but Square Enix’s continued collaboration with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the form of fighters Cloud Strife and Sephiroth DLC continues to fuel rumors that even more may be on the way.

As for the mod, the Sora model looks very good in action and uses Shulk’s moveset, an existing one Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter. This is also partly how people ended up determining that the Sora DLC rumors were a lot of malarkey last year; Sora’s animated stance was expressly identical to Shulk because, as mentioned above, it was actually from this mod.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available for Nintendo Switch. The biggest and most recent DLC fighter for the title, Sephiroth, was released in late December. You can check out all of our previous coverage of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate right here.
