Super Rush Leak reveals unexpected character

Yesterday, a new Mario Golf game for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite – Mario Golf: Super Rush – was revealed and now a possible new leak revealed a character being added that no one expected. In addition to Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Peach, Daisy, Toad, Yoshi and the other characters already revealed, it seems that the players will be able to reach the green with King Bob-omb, or at least that’s what the official website suggests from Nintendo.

According to the game’s listing on the Nintendo website, “King Bob-omb can bomb the field”. Now, that doesn’t completely confirm that the character will be a playable character, but it does suggest it. If King Bob-omb is in the game, it will be his playable debut in the sub-series, and one of the few times he has been playable.

For those who don’t know: King Bob-omb – sometimes referred to as the Big Bob-omb – debuted in Super Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 as the first fight against a game boss. Since then, he has appeared as a boss in other Mario games, both mainline and spin-offs, but he was never a playable character in anything but Mario Kart Tour.

At the time of publication, the mention of King Bob-omb was removed from the site and Nintendo did not comment on the apparent leak. If that changes, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly. That said, don’t expect it to change. If Nintendo wanted to comment, it would do so when it cleared the information.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is scheduled to be released worldwide on June 25, priced at $ 60, and via Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. Pre-orders are active at Best Buy now. Below, you can read more about the game, courtesy of an official exclusive pitch:

“Hit the green with up to four players locally or online and play golf with well-known characters from Mushroom Kingdom. Modes range from Standard Golf to the energetic Speed Golf and an RPG-style golf adventure in story mode. Intuitive movement or button controls , a shot meter that adapts to the curve of the pitch, and other new features make it easier for new players and experienced professionals to drive and hit hard. “
