Super Bowl, crowd size 2021

If you’re looking at the Super Bowl crowd at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and thinking it looks like an exhausted run, your eyes are really playing tricks on you.

Social media is buzzing with many people believing that a crowded crowd is available for the big game.

But that is not the case. There are only 25,000 people present – in a stadium with a capacity of just over 65,000. There are also 30,000 cardboard cutouts – giving the illusion that all places are occupied.

Of the 25,000, almost a third are vaccinated frontline health professionals. However, some people are aware of the cuts and still believe that the crowd that is actually serving is still very large.
