Sunday reading: ‘The many lives of Steven Yeun’

Jay Caspian Kang, author and narrator of this week’s Sunday Read, spoke with actor Steven Yeun during Zoom late last year. The premise of their conversations was Yeun’s most recent lead role in “Minari” – a film about a family of Korean immigrants who are engaged in agriculture in the rural south.

They discussed the usual things: Yeun’s childhood, parents and acting career – which includes a seven-year stint on the hugely popular television series “The Walking Dead”. But the subject of the conversation continued to revolve around something much deeper.

Read Jay’s profile today and his meditation on Asian American identity today.

There are several ways to listen to ‘The Daily’. See how.
