Sumter High School running back Nathan Harris-Waynick received and accepted the preferred offer from new South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer.
“It means everything,” said Harris-Waynick, who ran more than 1,000 yards for the Gamecocks, who went 8-1 and made it to the state semifinal 5A last season. “It is a great school, it has the best facilities. It is a blessing.”
Harris-Waynick ran 1,168 yards and 18 touchdowns in 193 runs. He averaged 146.0 yards per game and 6.1 yards per load. Harris-Waynick also had four 46-yard receptions.
Harris-Waynick received a call from Beamer on Monday extending the offer. In a Twitter post, Harris-Waynick said he was accepted academically at USC and will apply for the spring semester.
