StoryTown radio show launches season 10 with online fundraiser – Herald & Tribune

By STAFF REPORTS

The Jonesborough StoryTown Radio Show will begin its 10th season on January 25, 2020, when its season-opening production debuts.

StoryTown switched to live broadcast format in April 2020 when the pandemic COVID-19 started. The cast and crew believed it was important to continue bringing to life the stories and music that demonstrate East Tennessee’s endurance and strength during these difficult times.

The radio program, like many other live stage productions, has lost its main source of revenue from ticket sales in 2020 and will continue to lose revenue in 2021 until it is safe to resume live theater productions.

To support your 10º Season, StoryTown is running a January-March donation campaign to raise its $ 6,000 target, which will cover all monthly production and fortnightly podcast costs. For just $ 2, the public can donate and support this important program that shares the history, heritage and culture of Jonesborough and East Tennessee. To donate, click on this link and choose the level of support, with special incentives associated with certain levels: https://townofjonesborough.thundertix.com/campaigns/1380

The StoryTown Radio Show is determined to make its 10th season the most exciting of all time, adding new segments to include exclusive online shows of special guests, backstage interviews with community leaders and icons and even online tutorials. The first tutorial, available to those who make a donation of $ 10 or more, is an online harmonica lesson presented by the great Piedmont Blues artist Freddie Vanderford, an honoree at the South Carolina Folk Life Hall of Fame and a regular guest on the StoryTown Radio Show.

The live broadcast, as well as other events, will be posted on the StoryTown Radio Show Facebook page and the StoryTown podcast at www.storytown.simplecast.com or wherever you listen to podcasts.

The 2021 season will explore a variety of topics and present fascinating guests and interviews, in addition to its usual script program.
