Steven Yeun and Ali Wong star in the Dramedy series for 24 that Spurs Bidding Battle – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Hot out of his first Oscar nomination for Minari, Steven Yeun is reuniting with A24 in a dramatic 10-episode untitled comedy that he will star in with Ali Wong. Launched last week, it created an auction frenzy with the usual suspects – Netflix, Amazon, FX and Apple among them – all in the mix.

Wong and Yeun are executive producers. The creator / writer / showrunner of the limited series is Lee Sung Jin. They are keeping the record line a secret for now, but it won’t be long in coming, and it will be 10 episodes, 30 minutes long.

The series will mark the first time for Yeun since his beloved character Glenn Rhee was surprisingly killed in Living Dead. After a praised turnaround in the Cannes film directed by Lee Chang-dong, Burning, Yeun starred in the A24 and the one directed by Lee Isaac Chung Minari, which drew six Oscar nominations on Monday, including Best Picture. Yeun became the first Asian American to be nominated for Best Actor.

Wong’s work on TV includes the ABC sitcom American housewife and Black box, and she co-starred in the Warner Bros. photo Birds of prey.

A24 has become more busy in the TV space, with Ramy, Emmy winner Euphoria, At home with Amy Sedaris It is the next Moonbase 8 with John C. Reilly and Fred Armisen for Showtime.

Yeun is represented by CAA and Principal Entertainment, Wong by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
