Steven Spielberg is directing a film based loosely on his own life, with a Poison star attached to the project.
Variety reports that the legendary filmmaker wrote a film about coming of age with Tony Kushner, with whom he also worked on West Side Story.
The still untitled project will follow its protagonist, who will not be called Steven, during his childhood and adolescence in Phoenix, Arizona, where Spielberg himself grew up.
Poison actress Michelle Williams is currently in talks to star in an important role.

With the film divided into different time periods, auditions are underway for young actors to fill the cast.
The film is due to start production this summer and is due to be released next year.
In addition to exploring the main character’s teenage years, he will also explore the relationship he shared with his parents.
Williams’ attachment to the project comes when she prepares to repeat her role as Anne Weying in Poison sequence Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

The film will see Tom Hardy return as the titular antihero, who will face Woody Harrelson’s terrible villain Carnage.
Earlier this month, it was also announced that Spielberg is joining Netflix and the Duffer brothers for an adaptation of Stephen King The talisman.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage will be released on June 25, 2021.
