The Cardinals lost Chandler Jones in the final 11 games of the 2020 season because of a broken bicep and general manager Steve Keim said they did not intend to be without him again in 2021.
Jones was included in an NFL.com list of possible surprise cuts this week and this led to a question for Keim about the future of the pass rusher with the team during an appearance on Friday at Arizona Sports 98.7. Keim did not have to give a long answer to the question.
“I go reject that, ”Said Keim, via Kyle Odegard from the team’s website.
Jones is entering the last year of his contract and has a maximum limit of $ 20.8 million. An extension of the contract would reduce that number, but Keim declined to say whether this has been a topic of conversation in Arizona.
