Steve Austin confirms his career in the ring is over

WWE Hall of Fame Steve Austin recently spoke with Ryan Satin of FOX Sports and confirmed that his career in the ring is over, as he has no desire to fight again.

Stone Cold hasn’t fought since he retired in 2003, and now Austin says he doesn’t want to do anything else in the ring. He made the comments when asked if he likes having his “Broken Skull Sessions” program on the WWE Network as a way to keep him connected to the current cast.

“Dude, 100 percent,” said Austin. “Because, you know, I’m still the biggest fan of the business that I was when I was seven years old, changing channels and stumbling over it; so I had the chance to learn and have a good run. So I don’t want to do anything else in the ring. I’m fed up, I’m retired, everybody knows that.

“I don’t need to go around and leave anyone on top of a pile of coins and make them dizzy. Once a year, once every two years, whatever. So, yes. That connection makes sense. I opened the the way I did and I had the career I had, but I still watch all these people who came to the show. So the fact that I can still have a hand in the wrestling business and my finger on the wrist, yes, this is the relationship that I want and that I cherish. “

During the interview, Austin was asked what he thinks about WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his heel turn, and the work he has done with Paul Heyman.

“I like it because it looks like Paul helps to anchor it. [Roman]it has always been very good. He can work like hell, “Austin said.” They needed to make him go back. But, they would never pull the trigger. Vince, you know. He is the guy. He’s a handsome guy. Body. It can work. Vince never wanted to pull the trigger.

“But, people wanted his heel to run, you know? So, now I think that with Paul E, I think that stabilizes him and provides an anchor. I like everything he’s doing now. Very. Everything makes sense and is working. “
