Stephen Colbert mocks Trump’s ‘unbelievably sad’ and ‘pathetic’ statement about the Covid-19 vaccine

The TV presenter addressed the statement in the Thursday episode of his Late Show.

In the message, released earlier this week, Trump seeks to take credit for the Covid-19 vaccine, saying that “[hopes] everyone remembers when they are receiving ”the injection that“ if I weren’t president, you wouldn’t have that beautiful ‘injection’ for 5 years at best, and you probably wouldn’t be getting it ” Trump then reiterated: “I hope everyone will remember.”

Colbert read the statement out loud and commented, “First of all, this is incredibly sad. Second, pathetic.

“Third, how did we discover this statement? He can’t tweet these things. Did he just print and staple on telephone poles in Palm Beach? He might as well have just released, ‘ex-prez will take the credit and teach him the guitar.’ “

Twitter announced in January this year that it had permanently banned Trump from using the service after the Capitol rebellion.

Referring to the change, Colbert asked himself, “We banned him from Twitter. We can banish it from paper, is that possible? “

President Joe Biden announced plans to target all states, tribes and territories to make all adult Americans eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine by May 1.

He said his goal is to bring the country “closer to normal” by July 4, 2021.
