The question of what will happen when Vince McMahon leaves the post of President and CEO of WWE has been on the minds of WWE fans for years. Many assume that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will join to fill the role, given their strong involvement on the corporate side of WWE for more than a decade. Stephanie McMahon was asked about this issue during the Bloomberg Business of Sports Podcast over the weekend, and I ended up with the fan theory.
I don’t think there will ever be a personal replacement for Vince McMahon. He does a lot. The landscape would look different, regardless of the shape, “said McMahon (h / t The Wrap) “I think a lot of institutional knowledge is important, especially with regard to the main content. But it also involves our business with strong and intelligent executives. And that is exactly what we have. So, I think it is the marriage of institutional knowledge, the incredible production value, the creation of IP talent and stories and really strong business executives to help us expand. I think it’s a combination of things. “
“It’s really remarkable when you think about our history and what Vince has achieved. Think about what he did. He took what was a regional business and had the vision to create an organization, nationally and globally. My dad saw the opportunity for distribution ; he saw the opportunity for advertising. Ultimately, he saw the opportunity to really create something that had never reached the level of popularity that it never had been. “
