In the fourth period of the Warriors’ 108-101 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Chase Center on Wednesday night, Steph Curry limped off the court slightly after rolling his ankle while playing defense.
According to NBC Sports Bay Area Warriors’ Monte Poole, coach Steve Kerr said Curry suffered only a minor injury.
The Warriors have time off on Thursday, but receive the Clippers again on Friday. Curry was clearly the focus of the Los Angeles defensive game plan, often in doubles and triples at night. He finished with the lowest low of the season with 13 points out of 5 out of 17 shots, including only 1 out of 6 on 3 points.
Curry has been a catalyst for the Warriors this season, notably his 62-point burst, the best of his career, on Sunday. Without it, the Warriors would lose their top scorer, player and engine. In eight games this season, Curry has averaged 29.6 points per contest, which ranks second in the NBA.

Andrew Wiggins got a beautiful 19 point night on Wednesday, but teammate Kelly Oubre Jr. continued his struggles earlier in the season in attack, going 0 to 6 in the 3-point range and 4 to 13 on the field to end eight points. Wiggins and Oubre Jr. have not shown that they can be consistent enough to carry the Warriors every night.
It has become obvious that Curry will have to do the heavy lifting for this team throughout the season. If he wastes any time, the Warriors will have an initial test of their depth and courage.
