The personality of sports radio and TV Colin Cowherd never stops when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his last speech against the Steelers, Cowherd went straight to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and his preparation and philosophy and how it relates to the problem the Steelers are in.
Cowherd went so far as to say that the Steelers sold their soul for Roethlisberger. He underscored his lack of preparation out of season, poor training habits, the simplified attack in Pittsburgh and his inability to work with talent.
Hard words and the first time I heard them, I was not happy at all. But after unpacking everything Cowherd said, he might not be that far away. This team has always gone as far as Roethlisberger can take them, and for the past 10 years it hasn’t been to the Super Bowl. It may be time for Pittsburgh to withdraw the band-aid, so to speak, and restart this franchise.
