Steelers interviewing Hank Fraley for offensive lineman vacancy

The Pittsburgh Steelers are due to have an interview on Thursday for their vacant position as an offensive lineman with former Steeler Hank Fraley, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Although his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers was short-lived as a free contract agent for Robert Morris in 2000, Fraley spent 10 seasons in the NFL. When Fraley was released by the Steelers to start the 2020 season, he was claimed by the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2001, Fraley appeared in all 16 Eagles games, starting at 15. In his five seasons in Philadelphia, Fraley started 71 games at the center before being traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2006. After four years in Cleveland, the top three of which he started every game, Fraley ended his NFL career in 2010 with the St. Louis Rams.

After ending his career in the NFL, Fraley served as an offensive line coach at the University of San Diego in 2012 and in the state of San Diego in 2013. Fraley became the assistant offensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons from 2014 to 2016 before returning to college he was the UCLA offensive line coach in 2017. Returning to the NFL for the Detroit Lions, Fraley was the assistant coach of the offensive line for two seasons from 2018 to 2019 before being promoted to offensive line coach by the 2020 season.

It was also reported that Fraley interviewed earlier this month with Cincinnati Bengals for his position as an offensive line coach.
