Steelers inactive for week 16 vs Colts

The Steelers will be without kicker Chris Boswell after he was relegated out on Saturday due to a groin injury, and is inactive for today’s game against the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field.

With Boswell out, the team raised kicker Matthew Wright to the training team’s Active / Inactive list. Wright was previously elevated to the Active / Inactive list before the Week 13 game against Washington. He kicked a 37-yard field goal and hit his two attempts for extra points in that game.

The team will also not have multiple linebackers today, with Marcus Allen and Ola Adeniyi inactive, as they were also demoted out on Saturday, leaving the team weak in the linebacker again. In addition, linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III was placed on the reserve / injured list this week.

However, there is good news in the linebacker. After losing the last two games on the Reserve List / COVID-19, Vince Williams was activated this week and will be active today. Tegray Scales was also hired on the 53-player roster on Saturday to provide depth. Scales was hired by the training team on November 11 and was also elevated to the active / inactive list in week 14 against Buffalo and in week 15 against Cincinnati, playing in both games.

Also inactive today are quarterback Joshua Dobbs, running back Anthony McFarland Jr., who missed training at the end of the week due to illness, and defensive man Isaiah Buggs.

The Colts will be without their two initial tackles after Anthony Castonzo was relegated out and Braden Smith was placed on the Reserve / COVID-19 list.
